You can buy and sell Telegram gifts inside the messenger for Stars or Gram (prev. Toncoin), on the Fragment and Getgems websites for Gram, and in the Portals, MRKT, and Tonnel Market mini apps. Marketplace fees range from 0% to 20% (as of October 2026), and the platforms also differ in ID checks (KYC) and in where your gift and money are held during a trade.
Key Takeaways
- The fee depends on the marketplace and the currency: Telegram takes 20% of a sale for Stars and 10% of a sale for Gram, Fragment takes 5%, Getgems and Portals take 2% each, and MRKT takes 0% (as of October 2026).
- Stars from a gift sale stay in Telegram: Under the Stars terms, Stars on your personal balance cannot be withdrawn, only spent inside the messenger.
- Only Fragment asks for ID at sign-up: Telegram’s built-in marketplace, Getgems, Portals, MRKT, and Tonnel Market work without KYC, and on Getgems your money never even passes through a platform balance.
What Are Telegram Gifts
Telegram gifts are animated gifts that users of the messenger send each other for Stars, Telegram’s in-app currency. Telegram was founded by Pavel Durov, and in 2025 the messenger passed one billion monthly users.
Only collectible gifts can be bought and sold. A regular gift has to be upgraded first: it gets a unique number, model, symbol, and backdrop, and becomes an NFT on the TON blockchain. Collectible gifts are paid for in Stars and in Gram, the coin of the TON network. Check out our article Telegram Gifts: A Beginner’s Guide to NFTs on TON to learn in detail how a gift becomes an NFT.

Which Telegram Gift Marketplace Is Safest
The safest Telegram gift marketplaces are the ones where your gift and money never go to a middleman: Telegram’s built-in marketplace, Fragment, and Getgems. On Fragment and Getgems, the proceeds go straight to the seller’s wallet, and the blockchain handles the exchange. Portals, MRKT, and Tonnel Market take the gift onto their own service account in Telegram and keep the money on an internal user balance.
Telegram Gift Marketplaces: Fees and KYC
Telegram gift marketplaces set their own fees, payout currencies, and KYC rules, and they differ in where the gift and money sit during a trade: inside Telegram, in your own TON wallet, or on the platform’s internal balance.
Telegram’s Built-In Gift Marketplace
Telegram’s built-in marketplace suits anyone who wants to trade without a wallet: the seller gets 80% of the price when selling for Stars and 90% when selling for Gram (according to Telegram’s developer documentation).
For example, a listing for 1,000 Stars brings the seller 800 Stars, about $10.40. If you turn on Only Accept Grams, Telegram converts the price to 8.34 Gram on its own, and the payout becomes 7.502 Gram, about $11.70 - 12% more for the same gift (as of October 2026).

Stars from a sale stay in Telegram: the Stars terms say plainly that Stars on your personal balance cannot be sold, withdrawn, or transferred. On the sale screen, Telegram also warns that a payment in Gram carries no risk of a refund, unlike a payment in Stars. Buying Stars costs less if you pay in Gram rather than by card - we covered this in the article How to Buy Telegram Stars With Gram in 2026.
Telegram Gifts on Fragment
Fragment is the official marketplace of the Telegram ecosystem, where gifts sell for Gram at a fixed price or at auction. Fragment takes 5% of each sale plus a network fee of about 1 Gram, and the proceeds go to a wallet connected through TON Connect, the protocol that links wallets to TON websites.
For example, in the connection window Fragment offers to scan a QR code with Walt (ex. Wallet), which is what Telegram’s Wallet has been called since September 28, 2026.
On each gift page, Fragment shows the current bid, the bid step, the instant purchase price, and the ownership history with the date the NFT was minted.
A gift gets to Fragment only after it is upgraded and withdrawn to the TON blockchain. Fragment verifies your identity at sign-up: without KYC, you cannot bid, buy, or sell.
Telegram Gifts on Getgems
Getgems is a TON NFT marketplace where Telegram gifts sell for Gram with a 2% fee (according to the Getgems help center). We checked: Getgems has no KYC and no internal balance - the Gram stays in the buyer’s and seller’s wallets until a smart contract completes the exchange.
You can add a gift to Getgems without withdrawing it to the blockchain by sending it to the @gemsrelayer service account for 25 Stars. A gift that is already on the blockchain can only be returned to Telegram through Fragment, which may ask you to verify your identity.
Telegram Gifts on Portals
Portals is a Telegram mini app (@portals) where gifts are bought and sold with a 2% fee (according to the Portals channel). You add a gift by sending it to the @GiftsToPortals service account, and the money sits on your internal Portals balance.
A gift bought on Portals with a card cannot be transferred, sold, or withdrawn for 7 days. When we asked, Portals support replied that KYC is not required for trading or withdrawals and that you can connect your own TON wallet (as of October 2026).
Telegram Gifts on MRKT
MRKT is a Telegram mini app (@mrkt) with a web version, where gift trades have been fee-free since November 2025. You add a gift by sending it to the @MRKTbank service account, the money is kept on an internal Gram balance, and gift withdrawals are currently free - a banner in the app says so directly (as of October 2026).
You top up the balance from your own TON wallet, which MRKT connects through TON Connect. We checked the platform’s addresses: the official ones are the @mrkt bot and the mrkt.land website, and look-alike domains have nothing to do with MRKT. KYC is not required for trading in the MRKT mini app.
Telegram treats sending a gift to a marketplace account as a regular gift transfer and charges 25 Stars for it: that is what it cost to send a Chill Flame gift to both the Portals and the MRKT Bank accounts (as of October 2026).

Telegram Gifts on Tonnel Market
Tonnel Market is a mini app inside the @tonnel_network_bot bot, where gifts sell for Gram with a 0.5% fee: 0.25% goes to the protocol and 0.25% to the referral program, as shown right on the app’s main screen. You add a gift by sending it to the @giftrelayer service account, and the platform runs daily auctions, one gift at a time. The money sits on an internal balance with deposit and withdrawal buttons, and you connect your own TON wallet to the app. KYC is not required for trading on Tonnel Market.
How to Choose a Telegram Gift Marketplace
Choose a Telegram gift marketplace by the payout currency, the fee, and who you are willing to trust with your gift and money during the trade:
- Sell Fast Without a Wallet: Telegram’s built-in marketplace, ideally for Gram: the fee is 10% instead of 20% for Stars.
- Sell an Expensive Gift: Fragment - auctions and a 5% fee, but with an ID check.
- Keep the Money With You: Getgems and Fragment - the Gram proceeds go straight to your wallet. A gift withdrawn to the blockchain is a regular TON NFT: you can store such gifts safely and privately in, for example, Gem Wallet - a self-custody mobile wallet for the TON ecosystem.
- Trade Often and Cheaply: MRKT has no trading fee, while Portals and Getgems charge 2%.
You can buy Gram for gifts with a card and swap your Gram proceeds for USDT if you want an amount that does not depend on the coin’s price.
