Starting September 4, 2026, from version 2.114.12, Gem Wallet adds Scan and Receive Switcher. Our users can now scan someone else’s QR code and show their own on one screen - paying and receiving take just a couple of taps.
What Is Scan and Receive Switcher?
Scan and Receive Switcher is a toggle in the Gem Wallet scanner: the Scan tab reads a QR code, and the Receive tab shows the QR code of your address for the selected asset. The switcher works with every asset across all 100+ networks in Gem Wallet. To see which payment codes the scanner reads, check out our QR Code Scan announcement.
A friend asks you to send USDT - you scan their code. A minute later, they pay you back in Bitcoin - you switch to Receive and show your QR. Paying and receiving are now just one tap apart.

How to Receive Crypto by QR Code in Gem Wallet
- Open Gem Wallet and tap the scanner icon on the wallet screen
- Switch to the Receive tab
- Find the asset you need and tap it
- Show the QR code to the sender - the transfer arrives at your address on the selected network
To scan someone else’s code again, just switch back to the Scan tab.
