Gem Wallet Adds Meteora Pools: On-Chain Swaps for SOL, USDC, and More

We are happy to share: we have a new partner on the Solana network - on October 19, 2026, in version 2.114.74 for iOS and Android, Gem Wallet started swapping tokens through Meteora pools. Now SOL, USDC, new tokens, and Solana memecoins can be swapped right on the blockchain.

Gem Wallet Swaps Solana Tokens Through Meteora Pools

Together with Meteora, we open one more big source of Solana liquidity to our users - Meteora DLMM and DAMM v2 pools. We are building Gem Wallet as a truly decentralized wallet, and with Meteora, Solana now has even more pools where a swap goes directly through a DEX - right on the blockchain.

Say you hold a recently launched token in your Solana Wallet and decide to lock in your profit in USDT. The liquidity of such tokens often sits in Meteora pools, and now Gem Wallet takes their rate straight from there - all that is left for you is to confirm the swap.

What Is Meteora?

Meteora is a DEX and liquidity layer of the Solana network, where liquidity providers, launchpads, and projects launch their pools and new tokens. In the 30 days before October 30, 2026, $3.7 billion in swaps went through Meteora DLMM pools, and DLMM and DAMM v2 pools together hold about $168 million (DefiLlama data, Gem Wallet calculation).

Meteora pools trade, for example, TRUMP, JUP, PENGU, and BONK.

Two Types of Meteora Pools in Gem Wallet

Gem Wallet works with both main types of Meteora pools:

  • DLMM (Dynamic Liquidity Market Maker): Liquidity is spread across price bins - inside one bin, the price does not move, and the pool fee rises as the market becomes more volatile.
  • DAMM v2 (Dynamic AMM): Two-token pools with a dynamic fee, built for new token launches - they also work with Token-2022 tokens.

Token-2022 is a newer Solana token standard in which a token can have built-in features, such as a transfer fee.

How Gem Wallet Calculates the Rate in Meteora Pools

Gem Wallet builds the Meteora quote itself, right on your phone - all the wallet needs is data from the Solana blockchain itself. From quote to trade, there are three steps:

  1. Picking the Deepest Pools: The SOL/USDC pair alone has 140 DLMM pools with different liquidity (October 2026), so the wallet checks the reserves in each one and keeps the four deepest. The wallet remembers the pools it found for a pair for a day.
  2. Calculating With Meteora’s Formulas: Gem Wallet reads the pool state in one request to the blockchain and calculates the rate with the protocol’s own math - with DLMM bins, the DAMM v2 pool formula, and the dynamic fee.
  3. One Transaction on Solana: The swap goes straight to the Meteora program, and if two tokens have no shared pool, the wallet routes it through SOL - as two swaps in one transaction, where the second spends exactly what the first guarantees.

The table below shows Meteora quotes in Gem Wallet for swapping SOL to USDC - from $100 to $10,000, data from October 26, 2026:

SOL Swap AmountMeteora GaveShare of the Amount Received in USDC
$10099.52 USDC99.52%
$1,000995.06 USDC99.51%
$10,0009,950.59 USDC99.51%

When the amount grows 100 times, the share that reaches you in USDC changes by just 0.01 percentage points (Gem Wallet calculation).

How to Swap USDC for SOL via Meteora in Gem Wallet

  1. On the Gem Wallet home screen, open USDC on Solana
  2. Tap Swap and choose SOL as the token you receive
  3. Enter how much USDC you give
  4. Open the swap details: if the wallet chose Meteora, it is shown as the provider, along with how much SOL you will receive

Important: The Solana network fee for a swap is paid in the native token, so keep a small amount of SOL on your balance.

Benefits of the Meteora Integration for Gem Wallet Users

In Gem Wallet, a self-custody wallet for iOS and Android with 100% open-source code, you securely store, swap, and stake crypto, and top up the coin you need with a credit card without leaving the wallet. Here is what the Meteora integration gives our users when swapping Solana tokens:

  • Two Pool Types, One Provider: DLMM and DAMM v2 pools are quoted together, the swap is built through the one that gives more, and in the app you simply see Meteora.
  • Priority for Swaps Through the Pool: Meteora gets priority if its rate trails the best quote by no more than 0.05% - then the swap goes straight through the Meteora pool.
  • Token-2022 Tokens: DAMM v2 pools support pairs with SPL tokens of the newer standard, so they are also available for swaps through Meteora.
  • Built-In DEX Aggregator: On every swap - for example, USDC to TRUMP - Gem Wallet compares provider rates and offers the best one, and in the swap details you can pick another provider yourself.
  • Simple and Clear Interface: The amount you receive and the chosen provider are shown right on the swap screen - it is easy to figure out even if you are swapping tokens for the first time, and experienced traders save time.
