On October 26, 2026, with version 2.114.82, Gem Wallet added DeepBook - our new partner for swaps on the Sui network. Now you can swap SUI, USDC, and other Sui tokens through DeepBook right in the wallet - on iOS and Android.
Gem Wallet and DeepBook Partnership on Sui
We connected swaps on the Sui network directly to the order book of our partner DeepBook. The trade happens right on the blockchain - so Gem Wallet now offers even more decentralized swaps.
Gem Wallet gets the rate from the Sui network itself: the swap is first test-executed against the current orders in the DeepBook order book - without a signature and without debiting any tokens, so you see the amount you will receive before you confirm.
What Is DeepBook?
DeepBook is the native liquidity layer of Sui: an on-chain order book (a list of buy and sell orders at different prices) created by Mysten Labs - the company that develops the Sui blockchain. More than 15 apps on the network trade on this order book (according to DeepBook, October 2026), and the project calls its liquidity the deepest on Sui.
Since 2023, more than $20 billion in trades have gone through the protocol (according to DeepBook, October 2026), and over the last 30 days DeepBook v3 handled $226.6 million in swaps - about a fifth of all DEX volume on Sui (according to DefiLlama, October 2026).
In April 2025, the DeepBook code was audited by OtterSec, and the protocol is protected by a bug bounty program that rewards people for reporting vulnerabilities.
How to Swap SUI via DeepBook in Gem Wallet
- Tap SUI on the Gem Wallet home screen, then tap Swap
- Choose USDC on Sui as the token you want to receive
- Enter the amount in SUI
- Open the swap details and select DeepBook in the list of providers
Important: The Sui network fee for a swap is paid in the native token, so keep a small amount of SUI on your balance.
Benefits of the DeepBook Integration for Gem Wallet Users
Gem Wallet is a mobile self-custody wallet with 100% open-source code for iOS and Android, where you can securely store, swap, and stake crypto, and also buy it with a credit card right in the wallet. Here is what the DeepBook integration gives our users when they swap Sui tokens:
- Deep Liquidity for Large Amounts: A large order is filled at prices already placed in the order book, so the rate barely moves - for $1,000 worth of SUI, DeepBook gave 995.52 USDC, and for $10,000 worth of SUI - 9,954.89 USDC, so with an amount 10 times larger, the rate difference was about 0.003% (Gem Wallet quotes and calculation, October 26, 2026).
- Fees Without DEEP: The DeepBook fee is taken from the token you give, so you won’t need to buy DEEP (the DeepBook token) just to swap.
- Routing Through SUI or USDC: If a pair has no order book of its own, the swap goes through two DeepBook order books with SUI or USDC in the middle - and still in one transaction.
- Slippage Protection: If the price changes while the swap is in progress and you would end up with fewer tokens than the minimum you saw on the screen, the transaction will not go through. By default, slippage tolerance is set to Auto - 1%, and in the swap details you can set it anywhere from 0.1% to 20%.
- Built-In DEX Aggregator: Swap Sui tokens in one window - Gem Wallet picks the best rate among providers on its own, and DeepBook is now one of them.
- Simple and Clear Interface: Gem Wallet is a native app, so a DeepBook swap looks and works the way your phone is used to, and it is clear from the very first try - for beginners and experienced crypto enthusiasts alike.
