Gem Wallet adds appearance theme selection - starting August 20, 2026, from version 2.114.10. An Appearance option is now in the settings, with three choices: System, Light, and Dark.
What Is the Appearance Theme in Gem Wallet?
The appearance theme is the look of the Gem Wallet app, light or dark. It is set in Preferences → Appearance and offers three options: System, Light, and Dark.
Previously, the app always followed the device theme. Now Gem Wallet users choose the appearance theme of the app independently of the appearance of their phone.
Three Appearance Options in Gem Wallet
System: The wallet follows the device theme - the default option, and nothing changes until you switch it yourself.
Light: The light theme stays fixed in the wallet, even when the phone is set to dark.
Dark: The dark theme stays fixed in the wallet, even when the phone switches to light.
How to Change the Theme in Gem Wallet
- Open Gem Wallet and go to Settings
- Open Preferences → Appearance
- Choose System, Light, or Dark
- Go back to the wallet - the theme applies right away, with no app restart
