A gift’s price rests not on the picture but on the rarity of its traits: a collectible gift has a model, a symbol, and a backdrop, and Telegram shows the rarity percentage of each one right in the card - the rarer the combination, the more expensive the listing.
The price range is huge. Standard gifts in the catalog cost from 15 to 100 Stars, while in the flagship Plush Pepe collection, with a supply of 2,861 items, the cheapest listing costs 5,750 Gram - roughly $7,771 (as of August 2026).
Telegram Stars are the in-app currency of Telegram: you buy them inside the app and pay with them for gifts, subscriptions, and other services.
Which Telegram Gifts You Can Sell
Only a collectible gift (a gift from a limited release that has been upgraded into an NFT with its own traits and number) can be sold: a standard gift has no sell or transfer buttons, and can only be converted into Stars.

Converting a standard gift into Stars always means a loss: for example, if the gift cost 25 Stars, Telegram gives back only 21 Stars for it - the seller loses 16%. And the conversion is irreversible: in the confirmation window Telegram says “permanently destroy the gift”, which means the gift is gone for good.
A collectible gift, by contrast, can be listed for sale at any moment - right after the upgrade or right after you buy it on the secondary market.

How to Upgrade a Standard Telegram Gift Into a Collectible
A standard Telegram gift turns into a collectible NFT through the upgrade button in the gift card, and you pay for it with Stars.
- Open Telegram and go to Settings → My Profile → Gifts.
- Pick a standard gift from the list and open its card.
- Tap the upgrade button.
- Confirm the action and pay for the upgrade with Stars.
What to know before the upgrade:
- Not Every Gift Can Be Upgraded: The feature is available only for limited gifts, mass-market gifts do not have it.
- The Result Is Random: The gift gets a mint number and three random traits - model, symbol, and backdrop - and those are what set its price on the secondary market.
- The Upgrade Price Goes Down: It works like a descending auction - it starts at 25,000 Stars and steps down about once an hour to a floor of 25 Stars (this auction has been in place since January 30, 2025).
- The Upgrade Is Irreversible: The NFT cannot be turned back into a standard gift.
How to Sell a Telegram Gift for Stars
Selling Telegram gifts for Stars happens entirely inside the messenger and takes less than a minute.
- Open Settings → My Profile → Gifts and pick a collectible gift.
- Tap sell on its card.
- Enter the price in the Price in Stars field. Telegram will not accept a listing below the collection’s minimum price, known as the floor.
- Check the “You will receive” line under the price: this is the amount after the fee, your real payout.
- Confirm the listing with the Sell button. Until the gift is bought, you can pull the listing with the Unlist button.
- After the sale, the Stars land on your account balance automatically.
Telegram does not publish the size of the fee, so read it off the “You will receive” line: at prices we checked in August 2026 the app kept about 20% of the listing price - for example, Chill Flame #27,625 listed at 500 Stars paid the seller 400 Stars (checked on August 19, 2026). You can only spend them inside the app - on other gifts, a Telegram Premium subscription, and paying for services.

There are two ways to sell a Telegram gift for TON - that is, for Gram, as the former Toncoin is now called: inside the messenger, or by withdrawing the gift to the blockchain and listing it on a TON marketplace such as Fragment or Getgems.

- Open the collectible gift card and tap sell.
- Switch the currency from Stars to Grams - the price field changes to Price in Grams.
- Turn on the Only Accept Grams toggle if you want to rule out payment in Stars and take only the coin.
- Check the “You will receive” line and confirm the listing.

Why It Is Better to Sell Telegram Gifts for Gram
There are three reasons to price a gift in Gram: a lower fee, a payment that cannot be taken back, and funds that actually leave the app.
- The Fee Is Twice as Low: On a sale for the coin, the “You will receive” line shows about 10% kept instead of 20%. The gap grows together with the price: on a cheap listing it is tens of Stars, while at those rates a listing at 25,000 Stars leaves the seller 2,500 Stars more.
- The Payment Cannot Be Reversed: Telegram warns about it right on the sale screen: “If the buyer pays you in Grams there’s no risk of refunds, unlike Star payments”. A payment in Stars can be cancelled by the buyer or the payment provider after the gift has already gone - and then the seller is left with neither the gift nor the Stars. A transfer in Gram settles on the blockchain and cannot be reversed.
- The Funds Land in Your Wallet: Stars stay inside the app, while Gram is a blockchain coin - sell through a marketplace and the payment arrives at your wallet address, where you can hold it, stake Gram for rewards, or swap it for another asset, a stablecoin like USDT included.
The market has already worked this out. We counted the listings in the app on August 19, 2026 - for example, of Durov’s Cap’s 201 listings, only 48 are priced in Stars - the other 153 sell for the coin. In the mass-market Snoop Dogg collection, with a floor of 600 Stars, 13,972 listings out of 36,562 are in the coin. And a buyer paying in Stars pays more: the cheapest Durov’s Cap listing costs 40,796 Stars, but with the “Show listings for Stars only” filter on it is already 55,900 - 37% higher.

How to Sell a Telegram Gift on Fragment
Fragment is a marketplace of the Telegram ecosystem where collectibles are sold directly for the coin of the TON blockchain. The sale takes three steps.
Step 1. Withdraw the Gift to the TON Blockchain
- Open Settings → My Profile → Gifts and pick a collectible gift.
- Tap transfer, then Send via Blockchain. Withdrawal does not open right away, and the wait depends on the collection - for example, for the Chill Flame collection it is 14 days, and until it unlocks you cannot list the gift on an outside marketplace.
- Enter the address of a wallet that supports TON NFTs - for example the address of your Gram Wallet, where the keys stay only with you. The transfer is one-way: the gift leaves Telegram.
Step 2. Connect Your Wallet to the Marketplace
- Wait for the gift to appear in your wallet in the collections section.
- Open the marketplace and connect the same wallet over TON Connect - by scanning a QR code, without your secret phrase.
Step 3. List the Gift
- Pick the gift in your profile on the marketplace and tap Sell.
- Set the price in Gram and confirm the listing with a signature in your wallet.
- After the sale, the coin arrives straight at your wallet address.
Fragment takes 5% of every sale - both on a direct purchase and on a winning auction bid - plus a network fee of about 1 Gram (as of August 2026). That is why you need a small reserve of the network’s native token on your wallet balance: you can buy Gram right in the wallet with a credit card.

How Telegram Gift Sellers Get Scammed
Scams against a seller rest on one asymmetry: the gift leaves instantly and irreversibly, and the payment does not.
- A Fake Escrow Agent: “Send the gift over, I will check it and hand over the money”. The transfer button is irreversible: once you tap it, the gift cannot be brought back through support or through the blockchain.
- A Bot or Channel Posing as a Marketplace: Telegram has no separate bot for selling gifts - selling is built into the app, right in the gift card.
- A Clone of a Marketplace Site: The domain differs by one character, and after you connect your wallet you are handed a transaction to sign that drains your assets instead of a listing.
